Nana's Green Tea in Osaka
Before coffee, I drank tea a lot. My aunt introduced me to Nana's Green Tea when I studied abroad in Japan a couple years back and I loved it! So every time I'm in Japan, I always try to hit up Nana's at least once. The chain specializes in matcha drinks and traditional Japanese sweets with over 60 locations open throughout Japan, all designed under the concept of being the "modern tea house". I had a quick half an hour to kill before having to meet people for lunch, so I stopped by Nana's Green Tea in Osaka.
This was the cutest seating ever. No one was using them! I really wish I had taken better pictures, but I was too excited to try my drink to really care about the quality of shots I took with my phone.
For those who are not a fan of the bitter flavor of matcha, you're in luck. Nana's Green Tea offers a variety of other drinks, from cafe au lait to hoji-cha (roasted green tea). While Nana's only have 4 of 5 different types of tea to choose from, the variety of drinks they can create with the teas are quite extensive. My travel buddies and I spent over 10 minutes staring at the menu, agonizing over which drink to try (and whether or not we wanted soft serve with it). Take a look at the menu:

From left to right:
Hot matcha latte with whip cream + chocolate sauce, iced matcha latte, Black sesame(? might be azuki) latte with soft serve, and hojicha latte with hojicha jelly (the jelly was a seasonal special). We got warabi-mochi for us to share. I wasn't so much a fan of warabi-mochi when I was younger, but I've grown to love, love, love it in the recent years. Nom.
I had the hojicha latte with hojicha jelly, and it was amazing. I wanted to order another drink off the menu, but unfortunately we were short on time.
Nana’s Green Tea is one of those places that makes their drinks look exactly like their picture. My friend Amy was in Japan just recently and went to Nana's based off my recommendation. She quite enjoyed it and sent me this picture of her matcha parfait:
Maybe I'll make it a goal to try at least 10 different drinks from Nana's before defaulting back to my favorite. Man, I really can't wait to go back!
If you pass by Nana's while traveling in Japan and have some time to spare, I highly recommend trying it out!
