2019 In Review
2019 is coming to a close fast. I haven’t done a year in review since 2017 (had a 2018 draft but never posted it), but this year felt like a good year to jot down some events from the past 12 months. It’s been a stressful rollercoaster of milestones.
With 2019 came:
Two job related certifications
A trip around Iceland (in a camper van!)
A few camping and backpacking trips
Moving to a new apartment
A new job in a different city
A short trip to Japan
The passing of my family dog
The final payment of my my college debts
The adoption of Kano, a street dog from Taiwan.
Ultimately this year has been good to me, in spite of the additional stressors that come with each one of those positives. Owning a dog in an apartment is an especially challenging endeavor. Tack on the dog’s separation anxiety and smart “I don’t want to because I don’t want to right now” attitude has been a complicated blend of frustration for Brian and I. Apartment as well, has been great. I love where I live, I love my views, proximity to Trader Joe’s and other food, and the all day natural sunlight!
All in all, it’s been a good year. I’m hoping to get really settled in and get to working on my creative projects again. I’m backlogged on so many blog posts I’ve started to lose track.
